HOT ROLLED AND PICKLED STEELS

Products obtained by cleaning the surface of hot rolled flat steel with acid. It can be produced between 1.20-6.00 thickness. Pickled products can meet different demands and expectations of our customers operating in the industrial field.

Structural steels: General building industry can be used for all applications. They have appropriate strength, formability and weldability properties.

Low carbon steels: They are used for general purposes in the production of cold forming parts by bending, drawing and deep drawing processes.

Tube steels: It has high formability, weldability and toughness. For this reason, they are used in the production of LPG cylinders, which are high temperature and pressurized.

High strength steels: It is used in applications where high strength, impact resistance and fatigue properties are required. In the automotive sector in general, rims, discs, pulleys, chassis parts, etc production.

Ship steels: They have high weldability and toughness properties and are used in ship and in the backbone.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Products:

Delivered as oxide layer on the surface pickled with acid and in states of;

Roller

Plate

Tempered.

Measurements:

Thickness, width and length values are nominal unless otherwise specified.

610 mm (+/- 10 mm) inner diameter for rolled or uncut sheet products.

For tempered products, the inner diameter is 610 mm (+/- 10 mm).

Surface Protection:

Oiling: Pickled surfaces are oiled unless otherwise stated.

GAZİ METAL recommends at least ‘normal oiled’ level of oiling for pickled products in order to minimize corrosion risk.

GAZİ METAL will not be responsible for the risk of corrosion on the surface if oil-free and low-oil products are requested.

The period of guarantee of non-corrosion of normal oily products is 3 months from the date of notification.

GAZİ METAL will not be responsible for the risk of corrosion that may occur due to non-GAZİ METAL stocking and shipping in normal oil products.

Surface Quality:

For surface defects in hot rolled products, EN 10163-2 (Class B Subclass 3) standard is guaranteed.

Weldability:

Using the carbon-equivalent formulation commonly used in the literature, the formula results can be interpreted as follows to give a general indication of the weldability of hot-rolled steels. However, in order to determine the true weldability of steels, it is necessary to evaluate the C and CE values together.

% CE ≤ 0,30: The ability to weld can be very good without any action.

0,30 <% CE <0,55: Can be welded using appropriate welding material and appropriate temperature.

% CE ≥ 0.55: can be welded by special welding practices.

Conformity to Surface Coating:

The qualities produced by the notation of S235JR, S275JR, S355JR within the scope of EN 10025-2: 2004 can be produced in Class 1 or Class 3 in accordance with hot dip method for galvanizing.
