The Companies applying for the award since 2003 were evaluated in two categories as being “Large Businesses” and “Small and Midsize Businesses (KOBI)”.

At the opening speech of the ceremony, Ayhan Zeytinoglu the chairman of KSO,   stated “on the occasion of today, I upbear and regret greatly the loss of Şahabettin Bilgisu, the name of our awards and  our departed founder who  made studies for the solution of environmental problems in 1970’s  , around the times, when nobody talking or dealing with environmental subjects .

We never forgot his words ‘The balance in the economy and in the ecology… The mystique is at that balance’ and we still use it, even today”

26 companies took part in the competition which was arranged with the slogan of “Clean production, strong industry”.  Gazi Metal was awarded for metal sector in the large business category due to his emission management, the projects for energy savings, and the applications for the recycling of wastes, environmental investments and his corporate social responsibility projects in environmental subjects.
